TSP InC
TSP is a multidisciplinary firm that handles architecture, engineering, planning and interior design. In my years there, I naturally got to work on a lot of projects from proposals to large scale graphics. Here are three of my favorite things I did with them.
Personal Business Development
Michelle, an Architects at TSP Inc, likes to send a sort of “Hello, it’s spring time” package out to some of her clients and contacts every April or May. I do a few of these for other architects and departments within TSP. Before I start on them though, I like to ask the person a few questions about their passions and any hobbies they have. Flowers and gardening are a pastime Michelle always enjoys. And the time outdoors is something that many people can easily connect with. Even people who don’t garden rarely dislike the idea of it. So every year, we design some sort of attractive delivery system to get people a packet of seeds along with a message from Michelle.
This package was sent out in the spring of 2021. While we talked about the spring time being an awakening from a long winter, it didn’t take a lit student to read in the parallels of it also being the end of a long year of political tumult and COVID-19 stresses. So when Michelle talked about how the extra light of spring brings new growth to nature as well as people’s spirits, the design just laid itself out to me.
Later, we sent out a Mailchimp email to her list as another little way to let them know they are on Michelle’s mind and to ask them how their seeds are growing. It also served as a way to track who opened the email, how much time they spent with it and what links they followed.
Both the physical piece and the email follow-up proved to be a successful way to extend her presence in the minds of some of her clients and contacts.
TSP and Augustana
When Augustana University’s new President started, we wanted her to know just how rich of a history they have with TSP. We put together a timeline that shows how well and often Augustana and TSP work together to plan out their campus and design some of their most iconic buildings.
I was able to use some great photography as well as sketches that were made by TSP’s architects. Putting the design together was fun, but the education I received about Augustana, TSP and their shared collaborations was the highlight for me on this project.
Navigating Together
TSP Inc. has an annual meeting for all of their employees from five offices. The theme for 2019 was Navigating Together and it was held near Nebraska City, NE. A point of pretty cool interest is that the area desperately needed trees. They planted so many that now, it is considered the American home of Arbor Day. Read more about it!
A number of pieces were created for this event. It involved posters, a save-the-date, a couple invites, tree growing directions, break-out group descriptions, itineraries and digital elements for social media.
